Even though John Crawford III was only holding a BB gun he picked up—IN A STORE THAT SELLS BB GUNS. Even though it was an open carry state. Even though he was on the phone when police officers opened fire on him. Even though he was shot in the back. Even though the cops lied and were caught in a lie because of the subsequent video. A grand jury who, when added together, obviously didn’t have half a gnat’s brain, declined to indict the officers. The message here? It has been, is, and always will be open season on black people for as long as white supremacy is the philosophie du jour.

Don’t even feel that surprised.
I am numb.
And that’s perhaps the worst part- that these kinds of injustices feel common and expected. Smh.

Is there anyway we can fix this?

You know what. I live in the city next to where all this happened. I lived in the city where they held the hearings for like fourteen years and I just moved away recently. MY FRIEND AND I FUCKING DROVE BY THE WALMART THE NIGHT IT HAPPENED. MINUTES AFTER IT HAPPENED. The ambulance was pulling in when we drove by to go to a different store. I work at Walmart myself, in Xenia where the hearings were. I can’t even explain how pissed off I am that I have to live around here now that I know that they’re going to do nothing. I’ve walked in that Walmart since then and now every time I go there I’m going to be enraged. We all know he shouldn’t have picked up the pellet gun, it was out of its packaging and people are naive and are going to think you have a real gun. But in no fucking way did he deserve to be shot and killed when he NEVER ONCE POINTED THE GUN AT ANYONE AT ALL. That 911 caller said he was pointing the gun at people when he barely took notice of anyone he passed. The most he did was hold it up on his shoulder and maybe swing it a couple of times. The caller said he was probably loading the gun. WITH WHAT “BULLETS” AND AT WHAT TIME WHILE HE WAS STANDING STILL TALKING ON THE PHONE IN THE PETS AISLE? They didn’t give him time for anything. I know the cops thought it was real. The caller made it sound like he was possibly intending to kill people. But what happened to “freeze” or whatever? Did they even bother or think about it? We all now he said it wasn’t real. But he went behind the end cap after he got shot and didn’t touch the pellet gun after that. A terrified man with no chance. A society with no give-a-fuck. A justice system with no justice. “Oh, he deserved that for being stupid. The cops made the right choice.” NO. FUCK YOU. HE WAS A YOUNG MAN WITH A LIFE AHEAD OF HIM THAT WAS GUNNED DOWN BECAUSE HE MADE A MISTAKE. Is that how we should solve problems now? No hope for explaining yourself, just shooting first and asking questions later? No. Bullshit. And if you think race has nothing to do with it, I weep for your ignorance. Sorry not sorry. This is so close to my home that I’ve lived in most of my life and I can’t stand to see a life get taken away and his memory be replaced with ignorance and lies.

The minute a band or artist has a bunch of female fans, they lose artistic credit in society but if a band has a lot of male fans, they’re considered “great bands” and “greatest artist of our times”.

Pisses me off so much. Don’t discredit bands and artists just because of who the fans are.
